Karlos Ibarra

Karlos Ibarra (Guadalajara, 1995) is a contemporary artist who, true to his concept of art, depicts ineffable moments from life with the aim of breaking away from the figurative and traditional school of painting and thus establishing his own unique painting style. Regarding the creative process, he says that "thinking less is more." He actively tries to limit his formats, color palette, and image compositions as a creative strategy, and he often works on two works simultaneously, since, paradoxically, he finds it easier to work on two works than one.

Artist Statement

"I am an artist whose creative output revolves around everyday moments and spaces, focusing on the relationship between inner landscapes and the moving body. My work presents a new language that confronts the human body with a bold and subversive energy, touching on themes such as transformation and fluidity."

"I strive for my work to convey an imaginative, authorial quality, characterized by intimacy, spirituality, exploration of color, and an aspiration toward the infinite that transports the viewer to dreamlike landscapes. I also work with everyday scenes of city dwellers and unfamiliar settings that are open to interpretation, allowing for the viewer's own evaluation under a suggestive, rather than imposing, title."
