100 pájaros volando Original Sculpture by Johanna El Zelah
100 pájaros volando Original Sculpture by Johanna El Zelah
Details
Johanna El Zelah models feeling into clay, shaping masks, flowers, and the female figure into small, charged objects with confessional titles. 100 pájaros volando (“100 birds flying”) lifts that vocabulary toward flight and release — a hand-built piece whose title imagines motion and multiplicity held in a single still form.
Made in low-temperature ceramic and finished with engobes and enamels, the sculpture is modeled entirely by hand. Roughly cubic at about 20 centimeters and substantial in weight, it reads as a solid, grounded object — the imagined flock caught, paradoxically, in something fixed and heavy. The glaze shifts between matte and sheen as the light moves.
