Su Lin Casanova

Su Lin Casanova (Mexico City, 1979), is a self-taught visual artist working primarily in oil painting. After years living abroad and moving through diverse paths, from archaeology andentrepreneurship to motherhood and spiritual practice, she returned to Mexico to dedicate herself fully to art. Moving between abstraction and figurative realism, her work explores the tension between the material and the invisible. Through layered compositions and symbolic imagery, she examines presence, identity, and the subtle forces that shape what we perceive as reality.

Artist Statement

“My paintings are small reminders of what I consider essential: presence, inner truth, and the intensity of being alive. Each figure represents an attempt to return to that essence which sometimes fades within the ordinary, yet never fully disappears. I do not seek to teach or explain; only to give form to what, though invisible, insists on remaining.”
