Anotaciones (Between My Ribs) continues Ricardo Luévanos’s practice of painting as notation — the surface inscribed rather than declared. The title places its subject beneath the surface, something protected yet exposed, extending the series’ idea of emotional states recorded quietly and held within.

Like its companions, it is made from fabric, gesso, and acrylic paint: fabric for softness and tension, gesso for texture and relief, acrylic for chromatic structure and gesture. The result is a layered surface that reads as bodily and architectural at once. At 150 × 110 cm with a 20 cm depth, the work projects off the wall and occupies space with intention.
