Johanna El Zelah models feeling into clay, turning masks, flowers, and the female figure into small, charged objects whose titles read like confessions. Buscando un recuerdo (“searching for a memory”) sets that quiet, interior act into ceramic form — a piece about reaching back for something half-remembered.

Hand-modeled in low-temperature ceramic and finished with engobes and enamels, the work is formed entirely by the artist's hand. At roughly 23 centimeters in each direction and heavier in the hand than the smaller pieces, it has real physical presence, its glazed surface moving between matte and sheen as the light shifts across it.
