Life from Beneath by Daniel de Polignac Original Painting

Life from Beneath extends Daniel de Polignac's acrylic investigation of psychological states and the patterns that shape human behavior. Where his portraits confront anxiety and authority head-on, this 2025 canvas turns toward abstraction: forms developing under pressure before breaking upward. It reads as a study of persistence and internal strength rather than a fixed narrative, growth pictured at the moment just before it surfaces.

Executed in acrylic on canvas, the work is built through successive layers that accumulate depth and directional movement, tension held against release. Color is applied decisively, and the composition carries its meaning through energy and contrast rather than literal reference. The upward push of the forms is the painting's central gesture, a surface that rewards close, sustained looking.
