Details
Mujer I opens the sequence that defines Paloma Ulacia's work—women rendered with quiet authority. The title frames its subject as both individual and archetype, and the painting centers presence, posture and identity over any narrative, dignity carried in restraint.
Executed in acrylic on paper, the 2025 work uses controlled layering and precise line to hold structure and expression together. Form and negative space balance one another, color used sparingly to set mood without overpowering the figure. The economy of line is the point: nothing overstated, everything felt.
