Smoothie Blue is one of Nuria Oliva's bright Smoothie works, the most exuberant end of a practice otherwise given to memory and home. Where Recolectar y cocinar con la Abuela and the Piezas de lo que somos series reach into domestic ritual and family, the Smoothie pieces distill that warmth into something small, saturated, and immediate.

The work is acrylic and resin on canvas at 28.5 cm square, set in a fluorinated methacrylate frame. The resin is the point: poured over the color, it seals the surface under a thick, glassy skin so the blue reads wet and deep, like liquid caught mid-pour and held there.
