Solitude reframes isolation as presence rather than absence — an intentional state of introspection and endurance. For Tori Pounds, who builds emotionally charged work from the blur of memory and imagination, solitude becomes a psychological landscape where stillness turns expansive and silence carries its own weight.

Oil on canvas, constructed slowly through deep layering and restrained tonal transition, the surface accumulates gravity over time. Color and form interact with control, so the atmosphere reads as immersive rather than illustrative. At 210 × 180 cm the work occupies a room fully, its impact unfolding through sustained attention rather than a single glance.
