Jorge Tellaeche

Jorge Tellaeche (Mexico City, 1982) focuses on historic pre-Colombian artifacts and images. Then, through his unique interpretation, he transforms that iconography into the future 500 years from now. His intention is to make the audience aware of themselves as humans and how we have slowly become disconnected from ourselves and with time have shifted our focus towards an automated and robotic society.

Across series such as Perdiendo la forma and Open the Door, Tellaeche works in acrylic and watercolor, building bold, structured abstractions in which ancient symbol and contemporary form meet — geometry as a language for transformation, transition, and the act of letting go.
