Details
Bacon Butty comes out of the place where Tori Pounds’s work lives — where memory, observation, and imagination blur. Working from the UK, she builds emotionally charged compositions that feel remembered and invented at once; here she takes something ordinary and familiar and pushes it until it turns psychologically charged.
The painting is oil and acrylic on canvas. Oil brings depth and tonal complexity, acrylic adds structure and sharper transitions, and the two hold control and spontaneity in the same surface. At 210 × 180 cm the format lets the image work as a full-wall anchor, its contrasts drawing sustained looking rather than a passing glance.
