CDTA001 by Pepe Reyes Limited Edition Rollage Print

CDTA001 comes out of Pepe Reyes's ongoing collaboration with JoCa, a body of work built in “rollage” — a print-based technique of cutting and reassembling imagery. The coded title is characteristic: it functions as a quiet marker rather than a description, keeping the focus on system, sequence, and variation. The result translates painting into a register of layered, fragmented image, where structure carries the meaning.

The piece is a giclée print on William Turner Hahnemühle 190 gsm paper, reworked as a rollage so the flat image gains sculptural depth through folding and repetition. The archival print holds tonal accuracy while the reassembly introduces a controlled tension between order and disruption. In a 30-centimeter square, the rollage reads clearly as both system and gesture, made for close inspection.
