Mapa De Identidad Original Painting by Giselle Fenig
Mapa De Identidad Original Painting by Giselle Fenig
Details
Mapa de Identidad — 'map of identity' — is the maximal end of Giselle Fenig's abstraction, which she works as a kind of inner vision. Across her practice she layers acrylic, oil, gold leaf, pastel, and collage around perception, intuition, and identity, letting pop and figuration surface and submerge within the field. This is among her most densely built statements of that project.
The surface combines acrylic, gold leaf, pastel, and oil stick, each material asserting its own logic — the leaf catching light against chalk-matte pastel and the greasy drag of oil stick. Fenig lets the material do much of the talking, so identity reads less as a depicted subject than as an accumulation of marks and layers competing for the surface.
