Pepe Reyes

Pepe Reyes (Monterrey, Mexico, 1980). His work conceives of collage as a system of visual investigation where each cut fragments both the material and its meaning. Focused on the systematic deconstruction of the original, he appropriates pre-existing images to challenge their authority and highlight their fragility as a construct. Through a rigorous geometric logic of repetitive patterns and rhythmic displacements, Reyes breaks the static unity of the image to transform it into vibrant structures; a reflection on the fragment that reveals to us that reality is not a solid piece, but a sum of infinitely rearrangeable parts.
