Mexico City Art Week 2027: the guide

This is the working guide to Mexico City Art Week 2027. It starts small and grows. Check back often.

What Art Week is

Art Week is the week in February when the city’s fairs, museum openings and gallery shows happen at the same time. Collectors, curators and artists come from many places. The city is at its busiest. Because so much overlaps, the week rewards a plan.

ZⓈONAMACO runs 3 to 7 February 2027, according to the fair’s own site. Other fairs’ 2027 dates are confirmed here as they are announced.

Fairs

Fair dates can change, so check each fair’s own site before booking travel.

  • ZⓈONAMACO: 3 to 7 February 2027.
  • Material: dates to be confirmed.
  • Salón ACME: dates to be confirmed.
  • Clavo: dates to be confirmed.

Museum shows open that week

Museums often time openings for Art Week. The list lives on What’s On, and the agenda is kept current. Check each museum’s own page for hours and tickets.

Neighborhood routes

Mexico City is large. Pick one or two neighborhoods a day and cover them well, instead of crossing the city many times. Each route below is a starting point, not a full list.

  • Polanco and Nuevo Polanco: large museums and established galleries, close together.
  • Roma and Condesa: small and mid-size galleries in houses and former shops, easy to cover on foot.
  • San Miguel Chapultepec: a quieter district with a cluster of galleries and project spaces.
  • Centro: historic buildings, institutions and independent spaces.
  • Santa María la Ribera: artist-run spaces and neighborhood projects.

Outside the fair

Some of the best shows are not in a fair. We pick shows by hand for the work on view, not for the size of the venue. They are chosen, not scraped from listings. See the current picks on What’s On.

Practical

  • February is dry and mild. Bring a light jacket for the evenings.
  • Book restaurants and hotels early. The week is busy.
  • Taxis and the Metro both work well. Plan extra time between neighborhoods.
  • Most galleries close on Mondays.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. The days are long and the routes involve a lot of walking.

How to use this page

Use it to plan. Pick your fairs first, add the museum shows, then choose a neighborhood route for each free afternoon. Many galleries hold evening openings, so confirm times with each space.
