Latin American art fairs: Bogotá, Buenos Aires and Mexico City

Events & Exhibitions · Latin America

Three fairs anchor the Latin American season between now and February: Bogotá in September, Buenos Aires in November, Mexico City in February. Here are the confirmed dates — and the clash worth knowing about.

The three dates

Most calendars of the art year are written from New York, London and Basel, and treat Latin America as a single February entry for Mexico City. That is not what the season actually looks like from inside the region. Three fairs carry it between now and February, in three different countries.

Bogotá: ARTBO, and a scheduling clash

ARTBO is run by the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá — a chamber of commerce, which is an unusual parent for an art fair and part of why it has stayed close to the Colombian gallery scene rather than becoming a satellite of the northern circuit. The 2026 edition is its 22nd, over four days.

The clash. ARTBO runs 24–27 September. So does The Armory Show in New York. Galleries that normally show at both, and collectors who normally fly to both, have to pick one this year. Which way that split falls is a reasonable proxy for where the market thinks the attention is.

Buenos Aires: arteba

arteba runs 6 to 8 November 2026 at La Rural, the exhibition complex in Palermo. It is the shortest of the three at three days, and it sits far enough after ARTBO and far enough before Mexico City Art Week that it does not compete with either.

For anyone building a picture of emerging Latin American work rather than buying at the top of the market, Buenos Aires and Bogotá are where the regional galleries show depth that does not travel north.

São Paulo, and what is not yet announced

São Paulo is the obvious fourth city, and SP-Arte is its major fair. Its next edition does not have published dates as of 29 August 2026 — the site is currently selling tickets to SP-Arte Rotas without a public dateline.

We have not listed a date for it. Every date on this page was read from the fair's own site on the day of writing, and an unannounced date is not a date. This page gets updated when São Paulo publishes.

Mexico City's February week is covered separately in our guide to Mexico City Art Week 2027, which goes into ZONAMACO, Material and Salón ACME.
