Taeko Nomiya

Taeko Nomiya (Mexico City, 1990) is a Mexican photographer of Japanese descent known for her double exposure work exploring bicultural identity. Her photographs have been exhibited in Japan, Colombia, Mexico, France, and the US, and auctioned at Sotheby's NY. Her style reflects both Mexico's layered vibrancy and Japan's refined aesthetics, offering a visual journey through identity, history, and place.

Moving between Japan and Mexico, Nomiya finds intimacy in collective ritual — a karaoke room, a church threshold, a city at dusk — and brings distant geographies into a single frame. Printed as archival fine-art giclées, her limited-edition images are patient and atmospheric, attentive to light, scale, and the quiet weight of place.
