Art Fair and Exhibition Calendar 2026–2027

By Josh Stein · Founder, Art of NOMA, Mexico City · writing on the emerging-art market since 2023

This is the working art calendar from September 2026 through March 2027 — every major fair and biennale, with dates read from each event's own site rather than copied from a listings aggregator. Where an organiser has not announced dates, the entry says so instead of guessing.

Art of NOMA is a Mexico City gallery selling online and through Artsy. We are not exhibiting at any event on this page. We keep the calendar because it is the thing we most often need ourselves, and because most published versions of it contain errors.

Open right now

The 61st Venice Biennale is open and runs to 22 November 2026. Titled In Minor Keys, it is the exhibition conceived by Koyo Kouoh, who died in May 2025 before it opened; the Biennale chose to realise her concept with the team she had assembled rather than appoint a replacement. It is the longest-running and least time-pressured major event on this page — and the only one where nothing is for sale. Our full guide is here.

In Mexico City, the museum season turns over at the end of August, with major exhibitions at Museo Jumex, MUAC and Museo Tamayo running into the winter. What to see this autumn has the dates institution by institution.

Autumn 2026: New York, London, Paris

The autumn is the densest stretch of the year, and it moves west to east. The Armory Show opens the American season in New York on 24 September. Two and a half weeks later Frieze London and Frieze Masters run together in The Regent's Park from 14 to 18 October, and the following week Art Basel Paris takes the Grand Palais from 23 to 25 October.

That London–Paris gap is under a week, and the Eurostar is two and a half hours. A single European trip covering both fairs is entirely practical and a great many people in the trade do exactly that. The two fairs have different centres of gravity — London leans Anglophone and younger, Paris pulls harder from continental Europe — and seeing them consecutively gives a comparative read that neither provides alone.

Paris Photo returns to the Grand Palais on 12 November, and 2026 is photography's bicentenary. If your budget is real but modest, this is the single most useful fair on the page: photography is editioned, which is why serious work by artists with genuine exhibition records is routinely available at a fraction of comparable painting.

In Mexico City, Design Week Mexico runs 5–11 October — though as our guide sets out, most of its exhibitions stay up for weeks after the week itself ends.

December 2026: the Miami week

Miami Art Week is the most commonly mis-planned week in the calendar, because the fairs do not open together and most coverage prints a single date range as though they do.

NADA Miami opens Tuesday 1 December and closes on the 5th. Untitled Art holds its VIP and press preview on the 1st and opens to the public on the 2nd, running to the 6th. Art Basel Miami Beach does not open to the public until Friday 4 December.

The consequence is the single most useful piece of planning advice on this page: if you book around Art Basel's public opening and arrive on the 4th, NADA closes the next day and Untitled is already three days into its run — and those are the two fairs where emerging work actually is. Arrive on the 1st. The full day-by-day is here.

Early 2027: Mexico City, Los Angeles, Madrid

ZONAMACO runs 3 to 7 February 2027 at Centro Citibanamex and anchors Mexico City Art Week, alongside Material Art Fair and Salón ACME. It is the largest fair in Latin America and, in practice, eight fairs under one roof: the contemporary sections Main, Ejes, Sur and Arte Moderno, plus separate Diseño, Foto, Salón del Anticuario and Libros fairs.

There is a scheduling detail here worth knowing that no calendar prints: Mexico City's museums hold their major exhibitions open through art week and close them as the fair closes. Three of Museo Jumex's autumn shows end on 7 February 2027, the same day ZONAMACO ends. The practical effect is that the first week of February is when the largest number of significant exhibitions in this city are simultaneously open. If you are choosing one week to visit Mexico City, it is that one.

Frieze Los Angeles follows on 25–28 February 2027 at Santa Monica Airport, and ARCOmadrid runs 3–7 March 2027 at IFEMA with around 200 galleries. SP–Arte in São Paulo has not published 2027 dates at the time of writing, and we have left it off rather than estimate.

Which fair is right for you?

The fairs are not interchangeable, and choosing by prestige rather than by fit is how people spend a lot of money to see work they were never going to buy.

  • Buying your first work, modest budget: NADA Miami, or ZONAMACO's Sur and Foto sections. Younger galleries, younger artists, prices that reflect both.
  • Photography specifically: Paris Photo, without question. Nothing else comes close for depth in one medium.
  • Learning to judge quality: Frieze London, because Frieze Masters is next door. Walking between a painting made this year and one made four centuries ago in a single afternoon is the best calibration available anywhere.
  • Latin American work: ZONAMACO, and The Armory Show, which draws more strongly from the region than the European fairs do.
  • Curatorial rather than commercial: the Venice Biennale. Nothing is for sale, which is exactly why the selection is worth reading.
  • Design and the art-object: Design Week Mexico, and ZONAMACO Diseño.

How we verify these dates

Every date on this page was read from the organiser's own website or press material, not from an aggregator, and each entry in the Sources list below records what was checked and when.

Two honest caveats. First, some fair sites — Frieze and The Armory Show among them — block automated requests, so their dates were confirmed in a live browser session rather than by automated fetch. A blocked request is not a dead page, and we do not discard a primary source because a bot could not reach it.

Second, we corrected our own error while compiling this. An earlier version of our Miami guide stated that Untitled Art ran 3–7 December with a VIP day on the 2nd, and asserted that other calendars printing "2–6 December" were wrong. They were not. Untitled's own announcement of 26 March 2026 states the fair runs Wednesday 2 December through Sunday 6 December, with a VIP and press preview on Tuesday 1 December. The page is fixed and the mistake is recorded here rather than quietly deleted.

Verified 25 August 2026 against the official sites and published announcements of each organiser listed in Sources. Frieze and The Armory Show block automated requests; their dates were confirmed in a live browser session on 24 August 2026.

Art of NOMA is an official Artsy partner gallery based in Mexico City, representing around forty contemporary artists and more than 250 original works across painting, photography, print and sculpture.

Frequently asked questions

When is Zona Maco 2027?
ZONAMACO runs 3 to 7 February 2027 at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City. It anchors Mexico City Art Week, alongside satellite fairs including Material Art Fair and Salón ACME.
When is Art Basel Miami Beach 2026?
The public days are 4 to 6 December 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with invitation-only preview days before that. NADA Miami runs 1 to 5 December and Untitled Art runs 2 to 6 December with a preview on 1 December.
When is Frieze London 2026?
Frieze London and Frieze Masters run 14 to 18 October 2026 in The Regent's Park, on the same site. Art Basel Paris follows the week after, from 23 to 25 October at the Grand Palais.
Is the Venice Biennale open in 2026?
Yes. The 61st International Art Exhibition, titled In Minor Keys, runs from 9 May to 22 November 2026 across the Giardini, the Arsenale and venues throughout Venice. Unlike an art fair, nothing there is for sale.
Which art fair is best for a first-time collector?
NADA Miami, or ZONAMACO's Sur and Foto sections. Both concentrate on younger galleries and younger artists at prices that reflect career stage rather than reputation. Paris Photo is the strongest option for anyone with a modest budget, because photography is editioned and therefore far more affordable than comparable painting.
When is ARCOmadrid 2027?
ARCOmadrid's 46th edition runs 3 to 7 March 2027 at IFEMA in Madrid, with around 200 galleries. Frieze Los Angeles precedes it, running 25 to 28 February 2027 at Santa Monica Airport.
Is Art of NOMA exhibiting at any of these fairs?
No. Art of NOMA is a Mexico City gallery that sells online and through Artsy, and is not exhibiting at any event listed on this page. The calendar is maintained independently as a reference.
