ARTBO is the art programme of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, and its fair, ARTBO Feria, held its 22nd edition from 24 to 27 September 2026 at Ágora Bogotá. For emerging art, the most useful parts of the programme are not the stands alone: Artecámara, a section for Colombian artists under 40 without gallery representation, and the free Salas exhibition spaces run all year. The next dates, according to artbo.co, are Fin de Semana ARTBO on 15 to 18 April 2027 and ARTBO Feria on 23 to 26 September 2027. Everything below was read on artbo.co on 25 October 2026.

What is ARTBO, and who runs it?
ARTBO is not only a fair. Its website describes it as a cultural programme of the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, the city’s chamber of commerce, and it groups several activities under one name: the fair, a citywide gallery weekend called Fin de Semana, the Salas exhibition programme, and a training line that includes Tutor and Articularte. Together they reach beyond the stands of a single fair.
The fair itself, ARTBO Feria, describes its role as a meeting point for galleries, curators, artists and the public around Latin American art, and as the central axis of the art circuit that happens in Bogotá each September. For readers who follow the Latin American art fairs season, it is the September stop before the Buenos Aires and Mexico City dates.
The training line is the part most visitors never see. ARTBO describes education as one of its cross-cutting lines of work. Articularte runs laboratories and workshops at each edition of the fair to bring the public closer to contemporary practice, and Mediación is the dialogue with visitors that starts from a work of art. Trama is a separate initiative for artisans in Bogotá and the Cundinamarca region. Each is a different way of widening who takes part, which matters when the question is where emerging art lives.
What happened at ARTBO Feria 2026?
The fair ran for four days, 24 to 27 September 2026, at Ágora Bogotá. In its closing report, ARTBO says it received more than 22,000 visitors, with 50 galleries from 20 cities, more than 220 artists on view, more than 30 institutions and more than 40 publishers. The route was organised in seven sections: Galerías, Instituciones, Trayectoria, Artecámara, Conversaciones (five panels and a workshop), Encuentro Editorial and Ruta Diseño.
Two anniversaries marked the edition: 50 years of ArtNexus, the Latin American art publication, and 50 years of the Arte Dos Gráfico workshop. The Trayectoria section, a partnership with Bauer, was dedicated to the Colombian artist Fanny Sanín, who received the ARTBO – Bauer Trayectoria prize. ARTBO also reports 4,000 visits from university groups in the first year of its Comunidad de Universidades.
Prizes and acquisitions are listed in the same report: the Premio Whitman in Artecámara went to Juan Sebastián Sisa, and the Premio de Arte Acoplásticos 2026 went to Ana María Chamucero, represented by Galería El Coleccionista. Acquisitions were made by the Gun Club and the Club El Nogal. We report what ARTBO states and have not seen the fair floor ourselves.
Where does emerging art live in Bogotá?
The clearest answer on ARTBO’s own pages is Artecámara. ARTBO describes this partnership with Whitman as, for more than two decades, one of the most relevant spaces for identifying and accompanying new generations of Colombian artists without commercial gallery representation. In 2026 it brought together 20 artists under 40 from different regions of the country, in an exhibition titled “Un poder presente en todo cuerpo”, curated by Melissa Aguilar.
The Premio Artecámara 2026 gave the Premio Whitman to Juan Sebastián Sisa, with an incentive of 10,000,000 Colombian pesos, and three artist residencies: Plataforma Caníbal in Barranquilla, Residencia Cocuyo in Caqueza and Casa Taller El Boga in Mompox. A second award, the Premio de Arte Acoplásticos, is open to artists represented or invited by galleries in the fair and asks them to produce the work in Colombia for the following edition.
Outside the fair, two programmes work year round. Salas, active since 2004, aims to promote the circulation and professionalisation of talents in the visual arts in Bogotá and Cundinamarca. Its rooms are in Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá buildings in Chapinero, Kennedy and Salitre, with free admission. The Chapinero room, at Calle 67 # 8-32, floor -1, is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00, and on Saturdays from 11:00 to 16:00. Its 2026 shows listed on the site include La Ruta de la Avalancha, Detrás del Jardín, Cicatriz (o lo que una herida deja) and ONE. Tutor, a training initiative launched in 2011, says that more than 800 self-taught artists have taken part in the past ten years. Our own guide to what emerging art is gives the working definition we use, which may differ from ARTBO’s.
What is Fin de Semana ARTBO?
Fin de Semana ARTBO is a free event open to the public that offers routes through Bogotá’s main art circuits at extended hours. According to ARTBO’s announcement of the 2026 edition, it ran from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 April, one day more than before, to mark its tenth edition. The participating spaces were galleries, artist-run spaces, institutions, museums, design spaces and bookshops, spread over eight circuits: Kennedy, Centro Histórico, Macarena, Teusaquillo, Chapinero, San Felipe, Nogal and Chicó. The Kennedy circuit was new in 2026, with four spaces.
The programme also lists free transport between circuits and two side sections, Encuentro Editorial and Conversaciones. ARTBO’s home page gives 86 participating spaces for 2026. Because ARTBO’s news item lists every space by circuit, the weekend works as a map of the independent scene, from artist-run spaces to museums, design spaces and bookshops.
If your interest is emerging work rather than fair stands, this is the part of the calendar to plan around. It happens in April, so it does not clash with the September fair.
When are the next ARTBO dates?
ARTBO closes its 2026 fair report by announcing the 2027 programme. The table collects the dates that ARTBO has published for the last and the next editions.
| Event | Dates | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Fin de Semana ARTBO 2026 | 16 to 19 April 2026 | Held, 10th edition |
| ARTBO Feria 2026 (22nd) | 24 to 27 September 2026 | Held, at Ágora Bogotá |
| Fin de Semana ARTBO 2027 | 15 to 18 April 2027 | Announced by ARTBO |
| ARTBO Feria 2027 | 23 to 26 September 2027 | Announced by ARTBO; venue not yet published |
Those 2027 dates come from the closing news item, not from a dedicated 2027 page, so treat them as announced rather than final. We keep a listing for the fair on ARTBO Feria 2027, and one for Fin de Semana ARTBO 2027.
How can a collector use ARTBO from Mexico City?
You do not have to travel to use the programme. ARTBO publishes its galleries, sections, prizes and exhibitions online, and the participating galleries each have their own sites. If you do plan to buy at a fair, our guide to buying art at an art fair explains preview days, holds and payment, and the same questions apply in Bogotá as in Mexico City.
The Mexico City counterpart to this guide is where to discover emerging art in Mexico City. As a point of reference for what an original can look like on our side, Raúl Cerrillo’s Héroes Invisibles, an oil on fabric measuring 180 × 130 cm, is available now, and Cerrillo’s artist page lists the rest of the artist’s work on our site. You can also browse every work on the works page, where prices start at MX$ 2,337 today, for a limited-edition print by Daniel Stara.
One practical caution: ARTBO writes its pages for Colombian readers and publishes mostly in Spanish, with an English version of the home page and some news items. Where we translate a section name, such as Artecámara or Trayectoria, we keep ARTBO’s original name. If a date matters for travel, confirm it with the organiser before you book.
