Roma Norte and Roma Sur hold ten of the galleries in Art of NOMA’s venue directory, and with a little planning you can see them on foot over two half-days. This guide gives each gallery’s address and listed hours, then shows the window when all of them are open at once. Everything below was checked on 20 October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Ten galleries are listed in the Roma: five in Roma Norte and five in Roma Sur.
- From Wednesday to Friday, between 12:00 and 14:30, all eight galleries with listed hours are open.
- Seven of those eight also open on Saturday; General Expenses does not.
- None of the eight lists hours for Monday or Sunday.
- Galería Mascota and Pali Galería have no hours in our directory, so contact them before you go.
- The group spans OMR, founded in 1983, to Campeche (2021) and General Expenses (2022).

Why does the Roma suit a gallery walk?
Ten of the galleries in Art of NOMA’s venue directory sit in these two neighbourhoods, five in Roma Norte and five in Roma Sur, all in the Cuauhtémoc borough. That is enough to fill an afternoon without crossing the city, and the streets are ordinary residential ones, so the walk between doors is part of the pleasure.
The galleries are not alike. OMR opened in 1983. Travesía Cuatro was founded in Madrid in 2003 and opened its Mexico City space in 2019. Campeche began in 2021 and General Expenses in 2022. A single walk therefore takes in a long-established programme, a Madrid gallery’s Mexico City branch and several recent spaces, which is useful if you are still working out what you like.
This is a list by address, not a ranking, and it says nothing about which gallery is best for you. For the wider map of the city, the guide to the art neighbourhoods of Mexico City places the Roma beside the other districts, and our overview of art galleries in Mexico City explains how the gallery scene fits together.
Roma Norte: five addresses on four streets
The longest-established name is OMR, at Córdoba 100. According to its venue page, the gallery was founded in 1983 by Patricia Ortiz Monasterio and Jaime Riestra, and since 2015 it has occupied a 1970s building on Córdoba. Its own site, omr.art, carries the Córdoba 100 address.
Two galleries share a street. Galería Mascota is at Valladolid 33 and Travesía Cuatro at Valladolid 35, so the two can be seen in one stop. Mascota describes itself as a project space focused on the work of emerging foreign artists; its site is galeriamascota.com. Travesía Cuatro was founded in Madrid in 2003 and opened this Mexico City location in 2019, and its own site lists the Valladolid 35 address.
N.A.S.A.L. is at San Luis Potosí 123. It is an independent contemporary art project launched by Mauricio Aguirre, with spaces in Guayaquil and Mexico City, so check that a show you read about is the one in Mexico City. The project’s site, nasal.pe, gives the same San Luis Potosí address.
The fifth address is Pali Galería, a contemporary gallery working with emerging artists, at Avenida Álvaro Obregón 6A. Our directory notes that this is the address its website lists as its offices, so treat it as a place to write to first rather than a door to knock on. Its site is paligaleria.com.
Roma Sur: five spaces on four streets
Campeche, at Campeche 130, is a contemporary art gallery founded by Fátima González in 2021. From Tuesday to Thursday it keeps a midday break, which matters for planning and is covered in the hours table below. The gallery’s own contact page gives the same address, and its site is galeriacampeche.com.
General Expenses, at Medellín 263, was established in 2022 for emerging artists, collectives and cultural institutions. It is the only one of the eight galleries with listed hours that is closed on Saturday, so it decides which day of the week you walk Roma Sur. Its contact page confirms the address.
Two galleries are on Tehuantepec. House of Gaga, at number 148, has spaces in Mexico City and Los Angeles, and its contact page lists the Tehuantepec address. Salón Silicón, at number 223, is a gallery and project space with an online shop; its site is salonsilicon.com. The two share a street name, but the house numbers are far apart, and we have not timed the walk between them.
The fifth Roma Sur address is PEANA, at Tlaxcala 103, a contemporary art gallery with a project room and off-site presentations. Its site, peana.mx, lists its programme, and our directory shows it closed on Monday and Sunday.
When are these galleries actually open?
The table lists each gallery’s hours as they appear in our venue directory. Galería Mascota and Pali Galería have no hours there.

Reading across the rows gives two useful windows. From Wednesday to Friday, between 12:00 and 14:30, all eight galleries with listed hours are open. The upper limit comes from Campeche, which closes at 14:30 and reopens at 15:30 from Tuesday to Thursday. On Saturday, between 12:00 and 15:00, seven of the eight are open, and the exception is General Expenses.
No gallery with listed hours opens on Monday or Sunday, and N.A.S.A.L. and General Expenses are also closed on Tuesday. Hours change, and galleries close for installations and holidays, so treat the table as a starting point and check each gallery’s own site or Instagram before you set out.
How should you plan the route?
Two half-days work better than one long one. Group the visits by street rather than by reputation: start on Valladolid, where Galería Mascota and Travesía Cuatro are a few numbers apart, then add OMR on Córdoba and N.A.S.A.L. on San Luis Potosí. Add Pali Galería only after you have confirmed that it receives visitors.
For Roma Sur, go on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday so that General Expenses is open, and keep Campeche’s midday break in mind. A sensible order is Campeche first, then General Expenses, then the two galleries on Tehuantepec and PEANA on Tlaxcala. If the only day you have is Saturday, you will see the other four and miss General Expenses.
Galería Mascota and Pali Galería list no hours, so write to them first; our directory gives their Instagram accounts as @galeriamascota and @pali.galeria. If you are planning around the fairs, the Mexico City Art Week 2027 guide covers the February calendar, and the story of the 2026 gallery season shows how many galleries open shows on the same night in September.
What should you ask when you walk in?
Ask what is on the walls, who made it, and whether the price list is available. Ask whether a work is unique or part of an edition, and what comes with it, such as a certificate of authenticity. Our guide on how to visit a gallery show without feeling out of place covers the etiquette, and none of these questions is rude.
If you want a point of comparison before you go, every work on Art of NOMA carries its price on the page, and works on the live catalogue today start at MX$ 2,311, the price shown for a limited-edition print. You can browse everything on the works page. For a sense of how emerging programmes are read, the guide to discovering emerging art in Mexico City is a good companion.
Two works are good examples of the kind of thing worth slowing down for. Untitled II by Giselle Fenig is a mixed media work on paper whose missing title, according to its description, keeps it in the realm of intuition. Open The Door 1 by Jorge Tellaeche opens a named series whose theme, per its description, is thresholds, choice and psychological transition. Both are available now. A gallery walk is a good moment to notice what holds your attention for longer than a minute.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Roma galleries are open on Saturday?
Seven of the eight galleries with listed hours open on Saturday: OMR, Travesía Cuatro, N.A.S.A.L., Campeche, House of Gaga, Salón Silicón and PEANA. General Expenses is closed on Saturday. Galería Mascota and Pali Galería have no hours in our directory.
Can you see all ten galleries in one day?
Not comfortably. Eight have listed hours, and all eight are open together only from Wednesday to Friday between 12:00 and 14:30. Splitting the walk into Roma Norte and Roma Sur, on two half-days, is more realistic. We have not timed the walking between galleries.
Are Galería Mascota and Pali Galería open to walk-in visitors?
Our directory lists no opening hours for either. Pali Galería's listed address is the one its website gives as its offices. Contact both before you visit; our directory gives their Instagram accounts as @galeriamascota and @pali.galeria.
Where can you find more galleries in Mexico City?
Art of NOMA's venue directory lists galleries and museums across the city, and the Secretaría de Cultura publishes an official directory of galleries in Mexico. The guide to the art neighbourhoods of Mexico City shows which districts to explore next.
