San Miguel Chapultepec is one of the easiest districts in Mexico City to see on foot: Art of NOMA’s venue directory lists eight galleries here, packed along a handful of streets in the Miguel Hidalgo borough. This guide gives each gallery’s address and published hours, then shows the window when they are all open at once. Everything below was checked on 21 October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Our directory lists eight galleries in San Miguel Chapultepec, on five streets: Gobernador Rafael Rebollar, General Juan Cano, General Antonio León, Alumnos and Joaquín A. Pérez.
- Seven of the eight publish hours. From Tuesday to Friday, between 12:00 and 14:00, all seven are open.
- On Saturday, six of the seven are open between 12:00 and 14:00; Galería de Arte Mexicano lists no Saturday hours.
- On Monday only five open: Galería de Arte Mexicano, Enrique Guerrero, Patricia Conde, RGR and le laboratoire.
- MASA lists no hours in our directory and takes appointments, so write to it first.
- kurimanzutto states free admission on its own site. The group runs from Galería de Arte Mexicano, founded in 1935, to MASA and RGR, both opened in 2018.

Why walk San Miguel Chapultepec for galleries?
Eight of the galleries in Art of NOMA’s venue directory are in San Miguel Chapultepec, and the addresses cluster on a few neighbouring streets. That makes the district a natural half-day for anyone who wants to see a lot of contemporary art without a car. If you are comparing districts, the guide to the art neighbourhoods of Mexico City places it beside the others, and our overview of art galleries in Mexico City explains how the gallery scene fits together.
The galleries here are not alike. Galería de Arte Mexicano was founded in 1935 by Inés Amor and, in the words of our directory, is considered the first contemporary art gallery in Mexico City. Enrique Guerrero dates from 1997, kurimanzutto from 1999, and Patricia Conde Galería specialises in contemporary photography. RGR and MASA both date from 2018. One walk therefore takes in more than nine decades of the city’s gallery history, which is useful if you are still working out what you like.
This is a list by address, not a ranking. It says nothing about which gallery is best for you, and we have not timed the walking between doors. For a second route of the same kind, see our gallery walk through Roma Norte and Roma Sur.
Gobernador Rafael Rebollar: the two long-established names
Two of the district’s best-known galleries share one street. Galería de Arte Mexicano is at Gobernador Rafael Rebollar 43; its own website, galeriadeartemexicano.com, gives the same address and lists hours from Monday to Friday. The site only loads over plain HTTP, so do not be alarmed if your browser warns you.
kurimanzutto is a few numbers along, at number 94. It was founded in 1999 by José Kuri and Mónica Manzutto and shows Mexican and international artists. Its contact page lists a Mexico City space and a New York space, so read the city before you plan around a show you saw online. The Mexico City entry gives the Rebollar 94 address and states free admission.
Because the two doors are on the same street, they make a sensible first stop. Start at whichever opens earlier, which on most weekdays is Galería de Arte Mexicano at 10:30.
General Juan Cano and Antonio León: four more doors
General Juan Cano holds two galleries. Enrique Guerrero is at number 103, and its site lists the address as General Juan Cano 103, Colonia San Miguel Chapultepec. Our directory describes it as a gallery founded in 1997 that represents contemporary artists and promotes Latin American masters. Patricia Conde Galería is at number 68; its contact page gives that address, lists weekday and Saturday hours, and offers an appointment request by email.
Two more galleries are on General Antonio León. RGR is at number 48, and our directory describes it as known for geometric abstraction and optical and kinetic art. At number 56, le laboratoire sits inside Hub Creativo G.56. According to the gallery’s own platform page, it was founded by Julien Cuisset and is based in that hub, designed by the architects C Cubica. G.56 is the building rather than a separate gallery, which is why it appears here as one stop.
Where are Lodos and MASA?
The last two galleries are a little off the main streets. Lodos keeps its San Miguel Chapultepec space at Alumnos 14-C, according to our directory. The gallery describes itself on its contact page as not accepting unsolicited portfolios, and its published hours are in the table below.
MASA is at Joaquín A. Pérez 6 according to our directory. Its own site says it was founded in Mexico City in 2018 by Age Salajõe, Héctor Esrawe and Brian Thoreen, with Roberto Diaz Sesma and Isaac Bissu, and that it works between art and design. The site offers a way to book an appointment and publishes no opening hours, which is why MASA is the one gallery in this guide you should contact before you go. Both of these addresses come from our directory, not from the galleries’ own pages, so confirm them before you set out.
When are these galleries actually open?
The table gives each gallery’s hours as published, from the gallery’s own site where it states them and otherwise from our venue directory. MASA has no hours listed.
| Gallery | Address | Listed hours |
|---|---|---|
| Galería de Arte Mexicano | Gobernador Rafael Rebollar 43 | Mon–Thu 10:30–17:00; Fri 10:30–14:00 |

Reading down the rows gives one dependable window. From Tuesday to Friday, between 12:00 and 14:00, all seven galleries with published hours are open together. The limits come from the other end of the day: Patricia Conde opens at noon, and Lodos closes for a break at 14:00 from Tuesday to Thursday. On Saturday, between 12:00 and 14:00, six of the seven are open, and the exception is Galería de Arte Mexicano.
Monday is thin. Only Galería de Arte Mexicano, Enrique Guerrero, Patricia Conde, RGR and le laboratoire list Monday hours, so kurimanzutto and Lodos are closed. Nobody lists Sunday hours. Hours change, and galleries close for installations and holidays, so treat the table as a starting point and check each gallery’s own site or Instagram before you set out.
How should you plan the route?
Group the visits by street rather than by reputation. A workable order starts on Gobernador Rafael Rebollar with Galería de Arte Mexicano and kurimanzutto, then moves to General Juan Cano for Patricia Conde and Enrique Guerrero, and finishes on General Antonio León with RGR and le laboratoire. Add Lodos and MASA as separate stops once you have confirmed their addresses and, for MASA, an appointment.
If you can choose only one day, make it a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, when every gallery with published hours is open at some point and the noon-to-two window works for all seven. Remember the midday breaks: Enrique Guerrero closes from 15:00 to 16:00, le laboratoire from 14:30 to 16:30 and Lodos from 14:00 to 15:00 on weekdays that list a break. If you are planning around the fairs, the Mexico City Art Week 2027 guide covers the February calendar, and the story of the 2026 gallery season shows how many galleries open shows on the same night in September.
Before you go in, our guide on how to visit a gallery show without feeling out of place covers the etiquette. Ask what is on the walls, who made it, and whether a price list is available. None of those questions is rude.
If you want a point of comparison for what original work costs, every work on Art of NOMA carries its price on the page, and the lowest price on the live catalogue today is MX$ 2,323, shown for a limited-edition print. You can browse everything on the works page. Tepeyollotl by Roti Martínez draws, according to its description, on the Aztec deity of mountains, echoes and the jaguar, and is an acrylic painting on canvas that is available now. Positivamente Tóxica #3, by Johanna El Zelah, is a hand-modeled ceramic sculpture that is also available. A gallery walk is a good moment to notice what holds your attention for longer than a minute, and the guide to discovering emerging art in Mexico City is a good companion for the days between visits.
Verified 21 October 2026 against the galleries’ own websites (addresses and hours, where they publish them), the Secretaría de Cultura gallery directory and Art of NOMA’s venue directory (descriptions and the remaining addresses and hours).
