About this work

Johanna El Zelah models feeling into clay, turning masks, flowers, and the female figure into small, charged objects whose titles read like confessions. Positivamente Tóxica #3 comes from the series that sets the language of relentless positivity against itself — bright and knowing on the surface, quietly vulnerable beneath.

Hand-modeled in low-temperature ceramic and finished with engobes and enamels, the piece carries the marks of the artist's own working — every contour and gesture formed by hand. The glaze moves between matte and sheen depending on the light, and the intimate, held scale invites close handling over display at a distance.
