About this work

Ose leans toward openness and restraint, inviting engagement with what is felt rather than stated. Within Pia Dehne's practice, where the surface itself becomes part of the subject, the work operates through mood and material, meaning surfacing gradually rather than announcing itself.

Executed in oil on canvas, the 2025 painting builds depth, softness and layered tonal variation, its presence unfolding over time. Color relationships and subtle transitions guide the eye without resolving into fixed imagery. Modest in scale and assured in handling, it rewards slow viewing, nuance emerging through texture and surface.
