About this work

Special Night (2) steps away from Daniel de Polignac's more confrontational subjects toward atmosphere and intimacy — the quiet intensity of a nocturnal moment. It reads as a pause in time, shaped by mood and memory rather than literal depiction, and leaves the scene open for the viewer to complete.

Acrylic on canvas lets him layer color and work subtle transitions, so the surface stays immediate while gaining depth. Brushwork and tonal contrast build a stillness charged with anticipation — restrained energy rather than event. At 90 × 70 cm the painting holds a wall as a focal point without overwhelming it. Ships mounted on a professional wooden frame, ready to hang.
