About this work

G1001 comes from the rollage work Pepe Reyes develops with JoCa, where printed imagery is cut and reassembled into a layered surface. The title functions as a quiet code, directing attention to process — structure, repetition, variation — rather than to any depicted subject. The piece translates painting into a fragmented register that reveals intention through sequence.

A giclée print on William Turner Hahnemühle 190 gsm paper is folded and repeated so the image gains sculptural rhythm. The archival print holds precision and tonal depth; the reassembly sets order against disruption. Its 37.5-by-30-centimeter rectangle gives the composition both vertical and horizontal movement, drawing the eye across the shifts the rollage creates.
