About this work

Barca para Dos—“boat for two”—reads as a quiet moment of companionship and balance, coexistence rather than drama. Within Paloma Ulacia's restrained figurative work, where women and everyday life are painted with quiet authority, it lets emotion surface through atmosphere and gesture.

Worked in acrylic on paper, the 2025 piece pairs clarity of color with crisp layering. Form and negative space suggest closeness, movement and stillness at once, the surface refined and intentional. Intimate in scale, it holds to a human register, leaving room for the viewer's own sense of shared moments.
