About this work

Arturo Lemus Beltrán paints where classical technique meets the machine age. His hyperreal oils stage encounters between the human and the digital — surreal, science-fiction-inflected scenes shot through with glitch, reflection, and unease. Descubrimiento De Un Confín Nuevo (“discovery of a new frontier”) sits squarely in that project, using the language of old-master realism to ask very contemporary questions about technology and the self.

Built in oil on canvas, the work leans on precise rendering and controlled light, the kind of finish that rewards close looking. The frontier of the title reads as much psychological as physical — an edge where the familiar and the synthetic quietly meet, painted with the discipline of a much older tradition.
