About this work

Arturo Lemus Beltrán paints at the meeting point of classical technique and the machine age, building hyperreal scenes where the human and the digital overlap. La Invitación (“the invitation”) belongs to that world — surreal and science-fiction-inflected, threaded with the glitch, reflection, and quiet unease that define his practice. He uses the discipline of old-master realism to raise very contemporary questions about technology and the self.

Executed in oil on canvas, the painting depends on exact rendering and measured light, the finish smooth enough to blur the line between the painted and the real. The invitation of the title stays open and ambiguous — a gesture extended, its terms left for the viewer to read.
