About this work

La Bruja — 'the witch' — channels JoCa's interest in feminine archetype, intuition, and transformation. In keeping with JoCa's non finito language, the figure registers as presence and symbol rather than literal depiction, part of an ongoing treatment of identity as unstable and layered.

Executed in oil on canvas, the work builds through nuanced tonal shifts and expressive, textured gesture — grounded yet charged. The square format concentrates its symbolic intensity.
