About this work

Nuria Oliva paints the textures of memory and home, gathering domestic ritual, femininity, and family into layered, tactile surfaces. In Piezas de energía the heart moves to the center — not as a literal symbol but as a nucleus in transformation. It extends her interest in the everyday and the emotional life held inside it, treating feeling as a process rather than a fixed form.

Worked in oil and pastel on raw gray cotton canvas, the piece keeps the weave visible, so the bare ground reads as part of the image. Pastel sits dry and powdery against the oil, and the exposed canvas lends the surface a worked, unresolved quality that suits its subject.
