About this work

Recolectar y cocinar con la Abuela — gathering and cooking with grandmother — is one of the works that anchors Nuria Oliva's practice in memory and home. Where the Smoothie pieces distill her warmth into pure color, this painting stays with the source: domestic ritual, family, and the inherited gestures of a kitchen, treated as something worth preserving.

It is oil on cotton canvas at 90 by 97 cm, close to square. Oil lets her build the scene in tactile layers, and the raw cotton keeps a softness under the paint. The result reads like a remembered afternoon — specific in its warmth, slightly loosened at the edges the way memory tends to be.

Oil on cotton canvas · 2024 · 90 × 97 cm (35.43 × 38.19 in) · Unique · Mounted on a professional wooden frame · Certificate of authenticity included.
