Interrupted Dreams 01 is a two-panel work from Genoveva Kelleher's project of painting the soul as a place. Across the diptych her abstraction moves through consciousness, emotional rupture, and the natural world in an expressionist key; the split format itself performs the 'interruption' of the title, a single field broken across two canvases and asked to hold together anyway.
Each panel is worked in oil with raw, accreted gesture, marks built and effaced so rupture and reassembly stay visible in the surface. Kelleher lets the material speak, so meaning gathers from density and erasure rather than image. Read across the seam between the two canvases, the work turns the break itself into its subject.
