About this work

For My Next Trick is a large-scale oil by Daniel Stara (b. 2000, Florida), whose surreal, impressionistic landscapes merge classical reference with post-apocalyptic tension. The title marks a pause — the charged interval before revelation, where expectation builds and certainty is withheld — and the painting inhabits that suspense rather than any outcome.

Executed in oil on canvas, the work accumulates through slow transitions and restrained color, meaning suggested rather than declared. Its broad horizontal format moves the eye laterally across the surface — a narrative held in suspension.
