About this work

Self Assemble 2 Original Oil Painting by JoCa Unique Artwork is a contemporary oil painting on canvas created in 2025 that continues the artist’s exploration of identity as an evolving, constructed process. Building on the conceptual foundation of the Self Assemble series, this work reflects the idea that personal structure is never static—formed through layers of experience, disruption, and reconstruction.

Executed in oil on canvas, Self Assemble (2) Original Oil Painting by JoCa takes advantage of the medium’s depth, flexibility, and expressive durability. Oil paint allows for gradual layering, rich tonal variation, and a surface that holds both movement and permanence. The composition emphasizes rhythm and balance, with gestures that suggest tension and cohesion operating simultaneously. Rather than resolving into a single visual statement, the painting sustains a sense of ongoing formation.

Measuring 105 × 105 cm (41.33 × 41.33 inches), the large square format gives the artwork strong physical presence. The scale encourages immersive viewing, allowing the viewer to experience the painting as an environment rather than an image. The square proportions maintain equilibrium, reinforcing the conceptual theme of assembly and structural balance while anchoring the work within a space.

This artwork is a unique original. No editions or reproductions exist. Self Assemble (2) Original Oil Painting by JoCa is mounted on a professional wooden frame, ensuring long-term stability and a clean, gallery-ready presentation. The piece ships framed and ready to hang, with no additional framing required.

The work reflects JoCa’s ongoing interest in abstraction as a psychological and emotional language. By focusing on process rather than outcome, the painting allows viewers to interpret the work through their own experiences of growth, fragmentation, and renewal.

Self Assemble (2) Original Oil Painting by JoCa is intended for collectors seeking large-scale original oil paintings that combine conceptual depth, material richness, and emotional presence—artwork that feels deliberate, immersive, and enduring.
