About this work

Moonlit Room finds Tori Pounds working the interior spaces where memory, observation, and imagination blur. Rather than a literal room, the painting holds the psychological quality of a nighttime interior — familiar forms softened by moonlight, solitude that reads as reflective rather than lonely.

The surface pairs acrylic and oil stick: acrylic sets the compositional structure while oil stick brings gesture, texture, and density on top of it. The two pull against each other, so lines suggest boundaries without fixing them and the composition keeps breathing. At 45 × 35 cm it's an intimate piece that draws the viewer in close.
