About this work

Triumph runs alongside Disaster and Bros in Arms in Gareth Stehr's charged, street-language compositions. It reads victory less as a single moment than as accumulated effort and resistance — the swagger and grit of his work turned toward endurance and what it costs.

Acrylic and aerosol build the surface together, structure and depth meeting velocity and expressive marks. Layers overlap and assert themselves across a wide horizontal field without collapsing into chaos, giving the painting a momentum that feels earned. Force and control hold each other in balance.
