About this work

Memory 1093 belongs to Chuma Montemayor's Memory series, his continuing treatment of the image as something remembered rather than recorded. Here that idea arrives as a single, unrepeatable object — a photographic surface interrupted until it reads as a trace: layered, revised, quietly insistent.

It is an inkjet print carrying direct acrylic intervention, the printed base giving way to painterly marks that interrupt and reshape it. That contrast between mechanical image and manual gesture is the point, collapsing the distance between record and response. Unlike the editioned works in the series this one is unique, and it comes framed in wood, ready to hang.

Inkjet print with acrylic intervention · 2019 · 60 × 40 cm (23.62 × 15.75 in) · Unique original · Framed in wood · Certificate of authenticity included.
